He is a seasoned counselor and a personal victor over anxiety.

The founding pastor of the “Hope Chapel Movement.” He, and his wife, helped touch off a flood that mushroomed into more than two-thousand churches. He is the author of nine books.

A former surfer (not very good) and snow-skier (pretty good), he currently enjoys walking and riding a bicycle. Now pastoring his third congregation, Ralph spends much of his time in developing nations teaching pastors how to see and encourage potential in rising leaders.

I am a board certified adult psychiatrist practicing in Hawaii for over the past ten years. In addition, I have walking with my lord Jesus Christ for over 14 years although baptized at a much earlier age. I feel that Pastor Ralph has written a book about anxiety that is exceptionally practical in its approach. If only a couple ideas work for you, your anxiety could be much improved. There is a lot of confusion and sometimes controversy in terms of reconciling our Christian walks and taking medication for emotional issues. Pastor Ralph writes exceptionally well on this hot topic in his usual self-disclosing, humble style. We are foreignors and outsiders until we go home to be with the Lord, so there should be anxious and worrisome moments along the way. And yet, we were promised life abundantly, so why not do everything possible to expel any overwhelming anxiety? This book can be part of that healing process for you.

Excellent Book Written From Compelling Personal Experience

This is an easy to read book with lots of practical tools, as the author discusses his very personal experience with anxiety and how he came to realize that it was ok to use medication as a tool while in the midst of this (or any other) illness. It's an honest account of a difficult struggle and I appreciate the transparent spirit and courage he shows by choosing to share this with others so we all may benefit from it. Many chapters are healthy practices even if you are not dealing with anxiety, like "Driving in the Slow Lane", "Multi-tasking Makes Us Crazy" and "Protect Your Sleep". I like that a Pastor is telling us to slow down to gain insight and clarity when so many of us struggle with juggling ever increasing demands for our time. I really got a lot out of this book.

Defeating Anxiety is one of the best books I have read regarding the recognition and treatment of anxiety disorders, particularly among Christians. Pastor Ralph makes no bones about getting sufficient treatment. Thank you for not only an excellent read, but also a very informative, freeing resource for those who suffer (mostly in silence) for their frightening disorders.

About the Author

Mr. Kim Andreasson has advised the United Nations on e-government since 2003, most recently in preparation for the global 2012 e-government survey, and is a managing director of DAKA advisory AB, a consultancy. He was previously an associate director and a senior editor at The Economist Group’s Business Research division where he co-edited the annual report on the Digital Economy Rankings. Andreasson is an elected member of the International Institute of Strategic Studies and the Pacific Council of International Policy and is a John C. Whitehead Fellow at the Foreign Policy Association. He serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Information Technology and Politics.

About the Author
Walter Riso is a psychologist specializing in cognitive therapy and has a master's degree in bioethics. He has been a therapist for twenty-eight years, alternating as university chair, conducting research in clinical practice and scientific disclosure and psychological publications. He currently teaches cognitive therapy in different faculties of psychology in Latin America and Spain, and is honorary president of the Colombian Association of Cognitive Therapy.

Yo recomendo este libro para aquellas parejas que tienen y no tienen problemas en sus relaciones como parejas ,,les va ayudar y abrir los ojos y pensar un poco distinto hacia su relacion .
